The MACH 1 Caucus, a coalition of former military pilots and current lawmakers, has called on the Biden Administration to expedite the delivery of KC-46A Pegasus aerial refueling tankers to Israel. In a letter addressed to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, the Caucus emphasized the importance of supporting Israel in the face of escalating threats from various sources in the region.

The letter, signed by Representatives August Pfluger, Scott Franklin, Jake Ellzey, Mike Garcia, and Rob Wittman, expressed solidarity with Israel following the recent terrorist attack by Hamas. The Members highlighted the need to stand alongside Israel, stating that the United States has shown the world that it stands side-by-side with its greatest partner in the Middle East.

The MACH 1 Caucus underlined the multiple threats faced by Israel, including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad from Gaza, Hizballah in Lebanon, and Iranian-backed proxies in Syria. They further emphasized that the Iranian regime has issued threats, indicating the possibility of additional confrontations in the future. The Caucus warned that conflicts on multiple fronts would not only put civilians in harm's way but also weaken the Israeli Defense Forces' ability to defend their country.

In their letter, the Members stressed the critical role of air superiority in ensuring regional security and stability. They stated, "Air superiority, of not only American forces but of our partner's, is a critical component to regional security and stability."

The MACH 1 Caucus's call for expedited delivery of the KC-46A Pegasus aerial refueling tankers to Israel comes as a response to the urgent need for enhanced capabilities to counter these threats. By urging the Biden Administration to prioritize the delivery of these tankers, the Caucus aims to strengthen Israel's defense capabilities and support its ability to maintain air superiority in the region.
