How many students were enrolled in Elkhart ISD schools in 2021-22 school year?

There were 1,150 students enrolled in Elkhart ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 4.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.3% of them were boys, and 48.7% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 80.3% of the Elkhart ISD total enrollment.

Elkhart ISD roughly covers schools within Anderson County with its main office in Elkhart.

Among the four schools in Elkhart ISD, Elkhart Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 320 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
