Every year, higher education leaders at Baylor and across the nation survey the previous spring’s graduating class to determine how well students are finding jobs, grad school slots, internships and more to further their careers and set a strong post-undergraduate foundation.

For Baylor, the numbers are in — and Baylor graduates are excelling. With 100% of May 2022 graduates reporting, Baylor’s placement rate is 92%. (For comparison, that’s not far off the nation’s best numbers a year ago. While national numbers aren’t yet out for the Class of 2022, the most recent data available showed the top 10 universities in placement rate — mostly smaller liberal arts colleges — were each around 95%.)

For students and their families, these numbers represent security and dividends for the work they put in at Baylor. For the university, it means the focus on continued growth in Baylor’s placement rate is making a difference. This year’s numbers continue an upward trend — from 83% in 2020 after the pandemic, to 88% last year, and now up to 92%.

Pivotal to the university’s success in this area has been the work of Baylor’s Career Center, which offers programming, resources and personalized attention to help students land opportunities in the career of their calling, whether those come in the work force or postgraduate education. Baylor has focused on enhancing these resources over the years, and the results are paying off for students — a significant return on the investment they and their families have made.
