Baylor students come from every state and 100+ countries, and after graduation, they fling their green and gold afar in countless locations around the world.
When Baylor alumni recognize one another in the wild — in the airport, on vacation, in the workplace, etc. — there’s a shared understanding of who they are. The Baylor experience shapes each Bear in different ways, but one thing we have in common is a love for the green and gold!
As humorously depicted above by Chet Garner (JD ’06), host of PBS’ The Daytripper, Baylor Alumni’s new “Bears in the Wild” expedition offers fun ways for Bears to connect with other Bears in any locale. That connection may look like lunch with a new grad, a watch party for the big game, attendance at a Baylor event, or a quick photo with a fellow Bear you meet on vacation.
As part of “Bears in the Wild,” the university is collecting your photos and stories of such Bear Encounters. Some will be published in Baylor Magazine, some on social media, and all will be entered for special prize drawings. Contests and games will keep things interesting, and Baylor Alumni will award grand prizes throughout the year. Perhaps most importantly, your reports of Bear Encounters may spark ideas that lead others to deepen their Baylor connections in new ways, too.
