During the sixth annual Comets Giving Days event April 6 and 7, The University of Texas at Dallas community will come together in a fundraising effort for more than 80 campus groups, with the goal of exceeding last year’s record-breaking total of over $1.3 million raised from 2,800 gifts.
Matching gifts and challenges will boost individual donations during the two-day event. In honor of UT Dallas’ founding year, all alumni, student and employee gifts up to $19.69 will be matched dollar-for-dollar during special “power hours.” Supporters can view additional ways to extend their donations to campus causes on the challenges and leaderboard website.
For the first time since 2019, Comets Giving Days will be celebrated with a full slate of in-person events on and off campus, including a kickoff event at the Margaret McDermott Trellis Plaza at 10 a.m. April 6.
Campus groups will participate in a door decorating contest to win extra funds for their causes. Follow @utdallasalumni on Facebook to help choose the winner, which will be announced during a final countdown beginning at 6:49 p.m. on April 7.
Virtual and remote events also will connect alumni, friends and supporters through activities like virtual bingo and trivia challenges. Alumni happy hours in Houston and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, hosted by local alumni chapters on April 6, will offer the opportunity to network with fellow alums while supporting UT Dallas.
