Mayorkas Nomination--Cloture: Senate began consideration of the nomination of Alejandro Nicholas Mayorkas, of the District of Columbia, to be Secretary of Homeland Security.

A motion was entered to close further debate on the nomination, and, in accordance with the provisions of Rule XXII of the Standing Rules of the Senate, and pursuant to the unanimous-consent agreement of Wednesday, January 27, 2021, a vote on cloture will occur at 1:45 p.m., on Thursday, January 28, 2021.
