Congressman Ellzey Criticizes President Biden's State of the Union Address

In a statement released on March 8, 2024, Congressman Ellzey expressed his views on President Biden's recent State of the Union Address. Ellzey highlighted the historical significance of the State of the Union Address, stating, "The State of the Union Address is a sacred tradition in our country dating back to 1790 when President George Washington addressed Congress for the first time."

The Congressman criticized President Biden for failing to use the address to unite the country, stating, "Instead of using last night's State of the Union Address to foster common ground and bring the country together at a time when the American people need it, President Biden continued to divide our nation and blame Republicans for his Administration's shortcomings."

Ellzey characterized the speech as a missed opportunity for unity, remarking, "Last night's speech was more of a State of Division rather than a State of the Union." He also criticized the President for being out of touch with the American people, stating, "He again proved he is out of touch with the American people."

Furthermore, Ellzey pointed out the real-world impact of the President's decisions on the American people, stating, "Folks at home are living the destructive and tragic consequences of the President's decisions, and he provided excuses, not actions, to fix the problems facing our nation."
