On April 10th, 2025, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Security and Verification Enforcement (SAVE) Act, aimed at enhancing border security and improving immigration enforcement. The bill, which is co-sponsored by Congressman Jake Ellzey, seeks to implement verification measures to strengthen the immigration system.

“As an original co-sponsor of the SAVE Act, I’m proud to see it pass the House,” Congressman Ellzey stated. “This bill strengthens our immigration system by implementing much-needed verification measures. This isn’t just about securing our borders – it’s about ensuring that we can trust the integrity of our immigration policies and enforcement practices. We have a responsibility to protect the American people, and this bill is one of the ways we fulfill that duty.”

The legislation proposes to enhance verification systems, modernize enforcement tools, and provide resources to law enforcement agencies for securing borders. Congressman Ellzey expressed his support for the bill, emphasizing its importance in protecting U.S. citizens and upholding the rule of law. “I was honored to preside over the House when the SAVE Act passed,” he continued. “This legislation demonstrates the kind of leadership Americans expect from us. With strong bipartisan support, we’ve moved one step closer to ensuring that our borders remain secure and our immigration system is enforced effectively. I will continue working alongside my colleagues to make sure this bill gets across the finish line in the Senate.”

The SAVE Act aims to address gaps in the current immigration system and equip law enforcement with the necessary tools to uphold the law and protect Americans.
