There were 1,662 students enrolled in Fairfield ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.5% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.6% of them were boys, and 48.4% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 51.1% of the Fairfield ISD total enrollment.

Fairfield ISD roughly covers schools within Freestone County with its main office in Fairfield.

Among the four schools in Fairfield ISD, Fairfield High School recorded the highest enrollment of 489 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
