Census Bureau: 10.5% of people in Limestone County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 22,252 citizens living in Limestone County in 2021, 89.5% said they were only one race, while 10.5% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Limestone County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 69.2% or 15,395 individuals. Following them, African American accounted for 16.9% and totaled 3,754 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Limestone County is 0.4% lower than the state average, which stands at 10.9%.
