Ms. WILSON of Florida. Madam Speaker, I rise to honor the service of Rodney Wells, who has completed his Summer 2022 semester serving the people of Florida's 24th Congressional District. Rodney has proven to be a very capable young man and shows great promise for his future endeavors.
Rodney has assisted my office in various areas, including education policy, research, and constituent engagement. He has shown a great understanding of the legislative process and has demonstrated his ability to adapt and grasp various policy areas. Rodney has an excellent work ethic and excels in teamwork.
The son of Jocelyn and Rodney Wells, Sr., Rodney was raised in Jacksonville, Florida. A proud student at Florida State University, Rodney is motivated by a strong sense of social justice and politics. He has been appointed to the President's Council on Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. He is also the Political Education Chair for the Black Student Union and Director of External Affairs for the Student Government Association.
Upon transitioning from his internship, Rodney plans to use the knowledge and experience gained in this internship to further his efforts around his commitment to fight and advocate for marginalized black communities.
On behalf of Florida's 24th Congressional District, I ask my colleagues to join me in honoring Rodney Wells for his accomplishments.
