Mr. NEWHOUSE. Madam Speaker, I rise today to recognize the Northwest Community Action Center as they celebrate 40 years of service to the communities of Central Washington.
The Northwest Community Action Center first opened in 1982 to help expand on the mission of the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, helping families weatherize their homes, pay their bills, navigate the healthcare system, and provide them with after-care school services.
Since its opening, the Northwest Community Action Center has expanded its service programs to meet the needs of families across Washington and Oregon.
Today, community members can take advantage of the variety of services they now offer, which include adult education classes, English language classes, homelessness services, citizenship classes, and so much more.
I extend my congratulations and gratitude to the Northwest Community Action Center for its leadership and many years of service to our Central Washington communities.
