Arlington Fire Dept. issued the following announcement on Sept. 16
On 9/8 Chief Povlitz and ACFD personnel presented a citizens award to Mr. James McNair for his heroic actions at the scene of a vehicle crash occurring in May. Mr.McNair heard the crash and as he approached the vehicle it began to fill with smoke. Mr.McNair punched the window but he could not break the glass. Not giving up, he retrieved a bat from his vehicle and was able to break the glass and pull the sole occupant to safety. His heroic actions had a direct impact on the outcome of this incident. His exceptional efforts are to be commended.
