W. R. “Rudy” Flores, a retired Texas Ranger, is sheriff-elect of Anderson County.
Flores won the March 3 Republican primary with an unofficial total of 6,418 votes over the 1,403 votes of his opponent Jeff Taylor, according to primary election results.
Flores, who lives in Palestine, will run unopposed in the Nov. 3 general election, taking office in January 2021, according to the Palestine Herald-Press.
Flores said in a Facebook post March 4 at Rudy Flores for Sheriff that his was “truly a team victory."
“My digital world has exploded with text, emails, messenger, and posts. There is no way I will ever be able to respond to all of them in a timely manner,” Flores said in the Facebook post. “Just know that I appreciate you all and look forward to serving our county. I am excited about the future.”
The owner of Texas Forensic Association LLC professional training and consulting, Flores has over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, according to his biography on Facebook. He is a retired sergeant with the Palestine-based Texas Rangers (Company B). He’s had experience as a deputy sheriff, municipal police officer, state trooper and sergeant.
