CORSICANA – Navarro College officials have extend spring break and are considering how the COVID-19 outbreak will impact the remainder of the semester.
Events and activities on campus have been suspended. A mandatory reporting form has been implemented for all students, faculty and staff travelling from or through any country designated as Level 2 or Level 3 by the CDC for COVID-19. This will allow college officials to further monitor the situation and plan for future measures. Students and staff who have been travelling are encouraged to stay away from campus and wait for further updates and information.
Navarro College is a public community college in Texas with its main campus in Corsicana and branches in Fairfield, Mexia, Midlothian, and Waxahachie. The college has an annual student enrollment of more than 9,000 students.
As of March 31, Texas has reported 3,266 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 41 deaths. No reported cases have been confirmed among the staff and students of Navarro College and its campuses.
